“Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of Port Reception Facilities (PSP) in Bulgarian Ports for Public Transport of National Importance”

The project envisages delivery, installation and commissioning of facilities for receiving waste from the operation of ships and cargo residues, facilities for prevention and response to operational and emergency pollution (FPROEP), as well as development and implementation of an integrated information platform (IPI) for management and ensuring safety with a view to optimizing and developing the information service of sea and river transport.
The quality implementation of the investment project will bring Bulgarian ports in line with the requirements of the European Union in the field of environmental protection, arising from European policies and directives, as well as international conventions and standards in the field of water transport.

Main Objectives:
1. Improving transport management through the introduction of innovative systems;
2. Promoting sustainable transport and eliminating areas with insufficient capacity in key network infrastructures.
Specific Objectives:
1. Improvement and management of the environment in the field of water transport and reduction of the harmful impact on the environment through the commissioning of port reception facilities (PSP) and implementation of FPROEP;
2. Improvement of the organization and control of waste collection, as well as the interaction between the various participants in the detection and elimination of oil spills by sea and river.

The following main activities are set in the project:
Activity 1: Delivery, installation and commissioning of port reception facilities (PSP) in the Bulgarian river and sea ports for public transport of national importance;
Activity 2: Delivery, installation and commissioning of facilities for prevention and response to operational and emergency pollution (FPROEP) in Bulgarian ports for public transport of national importance;
Activity 3: Implementation and deployment of an integrated information platform in Bulgarian ports.
