CEERIS platform to be available in Bulgaria starting April 1st
07 Март 2025
As of April 1, 2025 the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) will launch CEERIS as a system to manage documentation flow in the Bulgarian section of the Danube River, alongside the existing Single Window system. Both systems will operate in parallel until a smooth and secure transition is ensured for users from the national Single Window system to the European-wide CEERIS platform.
CEERIS is the Central and Eastern European Reporting Information System, a joint initiative involving eight countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia. The platform enables ship operators to meet all reporting requirements for inland waterway transport on the Danube and Elbe rivers in the Czech Republic. The CEERIS and EuRIS systems share services such as user management, vessel position tracking, estimated time of arrival (ETA) calculation, route planning, and ERI message exchange.
The benefits of CEERIS include providing an overview of all reporting requirements along a selected route and enabling users to create and/or edit transport plans containing multiple trips, defined by events such as cargo loading/unloading or crew/passenger changes. Through CEERIS users can exchange data with other stakeholders – agents, shippers, control authorities and also review reports, their status, and any responses received.
The new platforms, www.ceeris.eu and www.eurisportal.eu, represent the next phase in integrating logistics users into the scope of river information services, aiming to enhance the efficiency of transport management and the competitiveness of inland waterways.
