The winners of the Cor Caroli Regatta 2024 have been announced

After a contested four-day race, the 24th Cor Caroli keel sailboats regatta has come to an end. The competition was held in the Gulf of Varna  during the first two days, and in the following two days - along the route from Varna to St. Vlas and vice versa. On the last day of the regatta the yachts competed along the route Varna - Aladzha banka - Varna, and this final race also determined the winners in the various categories. A total of 27 yachts from all clubs in the country took part in the race enjoying favorable weather conditions.

The special Blue Ribbon award for the fastest yacht in the regatta was awarded to skipper Mihail Kopanov from Yacht Club Port Burgas. The same crew also qualified as the winner of the IRC 1 category with the yacht named Chocolate. In the IRC 2 category, the yacht Shimazen, navigated by Yasen Kachinski, won first place in the ORC B category as well.

In ORC A, the crew of the yacht Kiara X with skipper Georgi Boev from Yacht Club Odessos Varna came first. The winner in ORC A1 was the yacht Pareya, navigated by Yavor Kolev from Yacht Club Ultramarine Varna, and in ORC C the yacht Proxima with skipper Svilen Doykov from Yacht Club Port Varna prevailed.

The prize-winners in the individual categories were awarded by the deputy mayor of Varna Municipality Iliya Koev and by the main organizer of the regatta Capt. Thoma Tomov.

The sea regatta is traditionally organized by the Municipality of Varna, Yacht Club Port Varna, and the Cor Caroli Foundation. It is supported by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.).
