The Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) presented some of the projects planned for implementation in the programming period 2021-2027 within the fourth meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Transport Connectivity Program (TCP) 2021-2027. The event was held on 14 and 15 May 2024 in Burgas.

During the Monitoring Committee meeting, a closing public event on OP Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020 was also held with representatives of the European Commission and the general public attending the event. BPI Co. joined in the initiative of the Managing Authority and the European Commission to plant trees on the sites of beneficiaries of the Program, which became part of the closing event. Ivaylo Ivanov, Director General of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, together with the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of BPI Co. Kaloyan Bogev planted a tree in the Public Access Area - Burgas as a symbolic act of the fight against the carbon footprint.

In recent years, with the projects completed, State Enterprise "Port Infrastructure" has demonstrated a consistent policy towards strengthening environmental control to protect the marine and river natural environment from pollution resulting from shipping activities. With the implementation of some of these projects, BPI Co. has provided state-of-the-art systems to optimize port processes in order to provide secure information exchange, increase shipping safety, risk prevention and enhance security within Bulgarian ports.

The projects planned for implementation by BPI Co. are mainly focused on the construction of new port infrastructure and the rehabilitation of the existing one. This will lead to increased terminal capacity as well as improved safety and efficiency in the public transport ports.

The Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company continues to develop the efficiency of port infrastructure, protect public transport ports from pollution and improve shipping safety.
