High-school Students from Ruse were Introduced to the Latest Technologies In Navigation

The River Information Services Center Ruse opened its doors to 8th and 9th year students from the Vocational Secondary School of River Shipbuilding and Navigation on June 20, 2023, Within the awareness day, the students got to know about the work of the experts from the River Information Services Authority at the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.).
The high-school students from Ruse learned about the operation of the River Information System (RIS) - BULRIS and saw up close functioning of the radio communications with the vessels, passing along the Danube.
RIS Center Ruse, operated by BPI Co., provides a complete picture of the navigational situation in the Bulgarian section of the Danube, which helps the safe work of the ship skippers and facilitates the control by the responsible institutions.
The magnificent building of the RIS Center has been put on the face of a postcard of the EU, as a recognition of a successfully implemented EU project.
The awareness day, dedicated to the successfully completed projects under the OP Transport 2007 – 2013 and OP Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014 – 2020, ended on the deck of the Danube 1 hydrographic ship of the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River. There, the students were shown the capabilities for scanning of the riverbed and observed a visualization of discovered sunken vessels.
