Feeling happy, and enjoying unforgettable summer emotions and an exciting sea trip in the Varna Bay, the children of Varna celebrated the International Day of the Seafarer on June 25, 2023. Little sailors learned curious facts about the mariner’s profession, and Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) joined the celebrations for yet another year, and made the kids even happier by giving them amusing presents.

At the shore, the official celebration of the Day of the Seafarer continued with a concert in the Radio Varna Art Hall, in the presence of sailors and their friends and relatives, people from Varna and guests of the city, who felt close to the sea. The celebration was organized by the Initiative Committee for Celebrating the International Day of the Seafarer – the Varna Municipality, the Sailers Trade Union and the Bulgarian Association of Sea Captains.

The International Day of the Seafarer was established by the International Marine Organization in order to emphasize the global importance of the sailors’ profession. Every year, on 25 June various events are organized worldwide, intended to increase the public awareness of the enormous contribution of the seafarers to world economy.
