Congress Center Burgas was selected as the winner in the category ‘Projects related to urban development – urban environment and culture’ in the National Contest ‘Building of the Year 2020’. The recognition has come from a 31-member jury of prominent representatives of the professional and creative communities, chaired by Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Valentin Yovev.

The prize was awarded to the Director of Branch ‘Port of Burgas’ at Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company Ivaylo Ivanov. The official award ceremony in the most popular and prestigious contest in the field of investment projects, construction and architecture in our country was held on 21st of December 2020 in the hall of Sofia Opera and Ballet, subject to the compliance with strict measures.

This is not the first award for the attractive building of BPI Co., which has contributed to the impressive vision of the seaside city and in particular the free access zone of the port – a favorite point on the map of Burgas, where you can most clearly feel how the city embraces the sea more and more. The Congress Center was awarded in a national contest for construction and investment already in June 2020.

Congress Center Burgas is another pearl in the walking area, along with a number of other buildings of BPI Co. that are no less picaresque, which contribute to the development of the urban environment, such as the Coastal Center for Vessel Traffic Management, the Marine Station and the reconstructed Warehouse 1. It comprises two large halls – Black Sea Hall with a capacity of up to 550 seats, equipped with audio-visual equipment and stage lighting of the highest class, and Pharos Hall with a capacity of 250 people. The building has 250 parking spaces in outdoor and indoor parking areas.

Thanks to its perfect location, spacious halls and modern equipment, the Congress Center is an excellent choice for holding events of various nature and at the highest level. The successful beginning of its important mission to contribute to the transformation of Burgas into one of the most important European cultural centers is evidenced not only by the awards received, but most of all by the growing interest in holding major Bulgarian and international forums in the city.
