The Member of the European Parliament, Mr. Andrey Novakov, visited the River Information Services Center in Ruse

The Member of the European Parliament, Andrey Novakov, was impressed with the high technological capabilities of the River Information System in the Bulgarian section of the Danube River – BULRIS. Accompanied by the members of the Bulgarian Parliament, Plamen Nunev and Svetlana Angelova, on 05.09.2020, Novakov visited the building of RIS Center Ruse, which is the focal point of the vessel traffic management for the Danube river. On site, he had a meeting with the director of River Information Services Authirity – Eng. Valentin Hristov, who illustrated and presented the system functionalities and capabilities.
The telecommunication infrastructure has completed complete and continuous data transfer along the Bulgarian section, with a common point – the building of River Information Services Center Ruse. The BULRIS system is a communications network in line with all technical guidelines for the planning, implementation and operational use of River Information Systems (RIS) to ensure effective and safe navigation on inland waterways.
