Key Strategic Document for the Danube Region Development Signed in Austria

The Director of Project Management Directorate to BPI Co. and Manager of DBS Gateway Region Project Anna Natova signed a key document for the sustainable developemnt of the Danube Region. The Strategic Partnership Agreement for Long Term Co-operation was concluded between the project partners during a final conference, which took place on 13.06.2019 in Krems, Austria.

The partners from Bulgaria, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Ukraine, Moldova have also pledged to continue to cooperate in the future to achieve a common goal: developing freight transport on water, stimulating business in proximity to ports, attracting new freight flows, turning Danube ports into modern logistic centres.

The international project Regional and Transport Development of the Region Danube – Black Sea to transnational and multiport region – Gateway to Caspian Region and the Far East /DBS Gateway Region/ with Leading partner The Lower Austria Regional Government was launched in early 2017. Two and a half years later, thanks to the joint efforts of partners from all Danube countries, the Project was successfully concluded with concrete proposals for infrastructure projects which will lead to tangible development and modernization of water transport.
