Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) will open a modern charging station for electric cars on Burgas festive day – December 6, Saint Nicolas the Wonderworker – the Saint Patron of the sailors. By the new facility, installed in the parking area of Burgas-East 1 port terminal, Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) contributes to modern and green town of Burgas and the port will welcome Saint Nicolas the Wonderworker with one more adding to its European vision.

The charging station is suitable for all types of electric vehicles – cars, buses, scooters, moped and bicycles. Two electric cars with a power of 22KW at 400 V can be charged at the same time. Its high-tech display informs users in three languages – Bulgarian, English and Russian. The service is paid via contactless bank cards, and a mobile billing application is under development

The installation of the new electric vehicles charging station is another step in the mission started years ago by BPI Co. to turn the seaside town into a modern port with European vision.  One of the last modernizations was carried out in 2016 with the renovation of the Magazia 1, and the reconstructed emblematic building was awarded the “City Projects – Transport Infrastructure - Burgas” award in the competition “Building of the Year 2016“. The area around the Passenger Terminal, the Traffic Tower and the Yacht Club was also cultivated. The European vision of the port was complemented by the construction of a new road to the Passenger Terminal building with roundabouts, new sidewalks, quay pavement and green areas, parking lots for busses and automobiles, and a bicycle alley. After the reconstruction, free access zone of the port became even more attractive place for the Burgas guests and citizens.
