A successful implementation of the DBS Gateway Region was reported by the project partners at a meeting in Galati, Romania, held on 17-18 May 2018. The Project Manager Anna Natova and the team from BPI Co. met with partners from Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Romania and Serbia. The event was attended by representatives of Varna Municipality and Burgas Municipality.

An interim progress report on the Roadmap was presented at the meeting and an overview of the Regional Action Plans was made. The partners presented the regional action plans and discussed their importance for the development of the port and the region concerned, as well as their contribution to the development of the entire Danube - Black Sea region.

A proposal for a route to be explored in detail, starting with China and ending in Novi Sad, Serbia, was also presented at the meeting. The idea is to study the prices, time and mode of transport of goods, taking into account the crossing of borders, as well as spare land routes in the event of adverse navigation conditions along the Danube.

The next year will be the "River show" exhibition, where the ambitious project will be presented in all the Danube countries. The next partner meeting will be held in Novi Sad, Serbia.
