Successful progress of DAPhNE reported BPI Co. and the project partners during the meeting in Sofia

The fourth work package leader meeting of “Danube Ports Network” /DAPhNE/ project, which took place on May 16, 2018 in Sofia, was successfully concluded. Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co. hosted the event and the other partners from Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria discussed the progress of the project activities and planned the next steps in its implementation.

A year and a half after the start of the project, the DAPhNE consortium consists of 23 partners from 9 Danube riparian countries, boasts significant progress in all activities. The most visible are the results in relation to port legislation and funding, port administration and governance, as well as port development, but also in terms of port strategy and networking of Danube ports. It will enable ports to reach their full potential of lively economic centres. It is envisaged that the next meeting of the leading partners will be held in September 2018 in the city of Ens, Austria.

The implementation of DAPhNE aims to facilitate the development of Danube ports as environmentally friendly, easily accessible multimodal centres for the region’s transport system and to transform them into economic centres that act as catalysts for economic growth and jobs creation. The Project’s activities are aimed at improving port legislation and port investment funding, administrative processes, business strategies, and port infrastructure development strategies and facilities.
