Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co. hosted the Executive Committee meeting of European Sea Ports Organisation /ESPO/, held on April 18, 2018 in Sofia. Official representatives of ESPO members from over 10 European countries, including the Netherlands, UK, Greece, Italy, Spain, Poland and Norway, took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Director General of BPI Co. Mr. Anguel Zabourtov and other members of ESPO discussed the future position of the most influent European maritime organization on the proposal of EFIP and the World Port Sustainability of the International Association of Ports and Harbors /IAPH/.

ESPO represents the interests of the port authorities of all EU Member States before the European Commission and the Parliament of Europe. The organization brings together stakeholders' efforts to influence EU policy makers towards a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly port sector.

In March 2018, the Director General of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co. was selected as ESPO’s Port Pro of the Month.
