Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) organizes two national workshops with DAPhNE stakeholders. The “Legislative Framework applicable to Bulgaria’s Inland Waterways” and “State Aid Schemes for Financing Investments in Ports” are the topics of the two workshops to be held on 19.04.2018 in Sofia.
The workshops will address the identified problems, their possible solutions and proposals for improving the regulatory environment as well as the practices related to the state aid regime applicable to the transport sector, in particular for the inland waterways of Bulgaria.
Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company is part of international consortium on the project "Danube Ports Network" (DAPhNE) with Lead Partner Pro Danube International, Austria. The project was approved for co-financing under the first call for Danube Transnational Cooperation Programme 2014-2020. The project includes 14 partners from EU Member States and one non-EU partner. The main objective of the project is to examine the ports located all along the Danube River as catalyst for re-industrialization and regional development. More than 70 river ports will be covered by the project. For the objective successful achievement, various studies of good practices in the field of legislation will be carried out. The project will provide a platform for exchange of views on common issues related to the regulatory framework for port administrations and will provide an opportunity for the exchange of experience amongst port managers.
