Varna hosts the prestigious international event “Black Sea Ports and Shipping”

7th Black Sea Ports and Shipping Exhibition and Conference will be held in Varna, Bulgaria under the auspices of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company from 21 to 23 May 2018. The prestigious event is expected to be attended by more than 300 representatives of the world-known shipping companies – carriers, shippers, logistic companies, port terminal operators, port equipment and services providers from nearly 20 countries, including Italy, Germany, Belgium, Romania. The emblematic event takes place for the first time in Bulgaria and it coincides with the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The goal of the conference is to analyse the latest global case studies in the field of maritime transport and logistics, to promote transport of containers in the Black Sea and the development strategies at the transport market, to adapt new container handling technologies from the Black Sea ports and increase the competitiveness of the ports in the region based on regional cooperation between the different organisations.

Within the event will be presented achievements of proven in marine industry companies and organisations. Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Co. hosting the event will present its achievements in the field of maritime transport modernization. The focal point will be the modern vessel traffic management systems implemented in Bulgaria, a clear proof of the great results achieved in shipping and navigation services. BPI Co. will also present successful practices related to stimulating the development of freight and passenger transport, facilitating the administrative service delivery to the business, improving planning of the calls to the Bulgarian ports and shortening the time for loading and unloading operations.

The international experts will discuss the present trends in port business, current and predicted regional trade; make macro- and microeconomic forecasts for the development of the Black Sea region within the event. The Conference provides an excellent opportunity to exchange world-class know-how and successful practices, and the exhibition will be a forum for leading port, shipping and logistics experts to present state-of-the-art technologies in the field of port industry and information technology.

“Black Sea Ports and Shipping” is among one of the largest and most prestigious international events in the field of maritime transport. Last year, the event took place in Batumi, Georgia, and in 2016 – in Constanta, Romania.
