25 Октомври 2016
Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) presented an innovative system for monitoring in real time of the Black Sea at the IV World Meeting of the International Organization "University Space Engineering Consortium" – UNISEC (University Consortium for Space Technology), which was held in complex “Kamchia“ Varna during the last week.
The meeting was attended by over 150 experts, academics and students from 31 countries, including Japan, Singapore, USA, Canada, Egypt, France, Spain, Germany, Poland and Bulgaria, who exchanged experience in the design and implementation of high performance small satellites in various specific areas, including monitoring the earth’s surface and atmosphere, early warning of earthquakes, communications, capturing space debris.
World scientists developing the latest space technology were impressed by the monitoring system of the Black Sea and some even expressed willingness to supply data.
The unique for Bulgaria system allows the collection of data in real time from a number of sources, including the “Copernicus”. The system monitors the status of various parameters of the environment, maritime spaces, coastal areas, port infrastructure, etc. The system is built by deployment of best practices of the Norwegian Coastal Administration in the development and management of the system BarentsWatch. Beneficiary of the project Monitoring and Information System of Black Sea is BPI Co.
The information system is with open access.
