The European Coordinator for the Orient/East-Med Core Network Corridor Mr. Matthieu Grosch met with the Director General of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPI Co.) Mr. Anguel Zabourtov while on a three-day visit to Bulgaria, 19-21 September 2016, in the process of preparation for the development of the transport corridor.
Accompanied by the European Coordinator for Motorways of the Sea Mr. Brian Simpson, Mr. Grosch visited the city of Burgas. There Mr. Zabourtov introduced them to the main port operations and the specifics.
The Corridor Orient-East Med Corridor connects the German port of Bremen, Hamburg and Rostock, passing through the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with a branch crossing Austria and continues through Hungary to the Romanian port of Constanta, the Bulgarian port of Burgas with connection to Turkey, the Greek ports of Thessaloniki and Piraeus, as well as to Cyprus by MoS.
