BPI Co. marked the Day of the Danube River with water ritual on over 60 students from Vocational High School in River Shipping and Navigation - Ruse

The water ritual – ‘river baptizing’ of the students from the Vocational High School in River Shipping and Navigation (VHSRSN) in Ruse, organized by the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (BPIC), marked the International Danube River Day– 29 June 2016. The celebration began with live ‘river’ of 62 students from the ninth and tenth classes of VHSRSN -Ruse, dressed in blue, who symbolically ‘poured’ on the city streets to the river Danube. In front of the River Information Centre-Ruse at 20A Pristanistna St. the lord of the river and seas King Neptune perform ‘river baptising’ of students in the presence of the deputy mayor of the town of Ruse Dimitar Nakov, deputy governor of the city Valentin Kolev, the Chairman of the City Council PhD TS Prof. Hristo Beloev and other official guests and journalists.
Once acquired new river and sea names, the students of VHSRSN made a short trip with the boat Ruschuk, owned by Danube Dredging Fleet AD. Then they saw a short demonstration on the functioning of the River Information System. The students had the opportunity to follow one actual working day of the port terminal Ruse-West and to learn about its history. Meanwhile the students of the National School of Arts “Prof. Vesselin Stoyanov” made the feast even more cheerful by making colourful paper ships.
Intraday the citizens and visitors of Ruse had the opportunity to see the exhibition organized by BPIC “River Danube, Ruse and its port”.
