River Information System in the Bulgarian stretch of the Danube – BULRIS won the first prize for transport port infrastructure

The project Implementation of River Information System in the Bulgarian stretch of the River Danube - BULRIS was awarded first prize in the category “Transport port infrastructure” of the prestigious competition for contribution in building the infrastructure of Bulgaria – INFRASTRUCTURE BULGARIA AWARDS, which was held on February 23, 2016 in Sofia Event Centre, Paradise Centre, city of Sofia. The nominations were announced by the 30-member jury.
The initiative is under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, the Ministry of Environment and Water, in cooperation with industry and professional bodies in the sector.
The Project Implementation of River Information System in the Bulgarian stretch of the River Danube - BULRIS is financed with EU funds under OP Transport 2007-2013. Beneficiary is the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company. BULRIS is a large and complex project involving the design and construction activities, supply of hardware and software for communications service, microwave, radio telephone, radar systems and a system for monitoring and visualization of vessel traffic. With the Project successful implementation Bulgaria fulfil the commitment to the EU to control traffic in the Bulgarian stretch of the Danube.
